Secure File Manager — Private & Encrypted Local File Explorer

Effective Date: June 23, 2026

TL;DR — Secure File Manager values your absolute privacy. The App employs a local-first design: all files, directories, analytics data, and Vault keys remain encrypted on your device. We do not maintain remote cloud storage, user accounts, or proprietary databases, meaning we have zero access to your personal files.

01

Introduction

MEDEV Studios ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Secure File Manager mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy outlines how we manage and safeguard your information when you use our App.

We believe your personal documents, photos, and databases are your own business. That is why the App is engineered to operate autonomously, processing all operations directly on your mobile hardware without remote cloud intervention.

02

Information Processing (Local-First Model)

Because the App operates as a local tool, we do not collect or store your personal files or personal identifiers. Here is how our core features handle your data:

  • Secure Vault (Encryption) — When you move files to the Vault, they are encrypted locally using AES-256-GCM. The encryption keys are securely locked inside your device's hardware-backed Android KeyStore. Decryption is only possible through local biometric authentication (fingerprint/face recognition). We never transmit your keys or vault files off your device.
  • Storage Analysis — Our storage analyzer calculates storage usage and detects duplicate or large files. All directory scans, calculations, and donut charts are rendered on-device using local processor resources. No scan results are transmitted to external servers.
  • Wireless File Sharing — If you start the wireless server to share files, a temporary HTTP server is hosted entirely on your local Wi-Fi network. No cloud relay servers or proxy configurations are utilized. The sharing session is protected by a dynamically generated local PIN.
03

Device Permissions

To perform its operations, Secure File Manager requires standard Android permissions. You control these permissions and can disable them in your device settings:

  • All Files Access (`MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`) — Essential for the core functionality of the App (viewing, organizing, copying, moving, renaming, deleting, and shredding files across your storage directories).
  • Biometric Credentials (`USE_BIOMETRIC`) — Used to authenticate and unlock your secure Keystore keys when accessing files in the Secure Vault.
  • Internet Access (`INTERNET` & `ACCESS_WIFI_STATE`) — Required solely to host the local file sharing server when you trigger the Wireless Sharing feature.
04

Third-Party Integrations & Analytics

We maintain a clean, tracker-free environment to prioritize application speed and absolute user privacy:

  • No Advertising SDKs — Secure File Manager contains no commercial advertisements or tracking banners.
  • No Analytics or Telemetry — We do not bundle third-party analytics libraries (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics) to track your app usage habits.
05

Children's Privacy Protection

Our App is suitable for users of all ages and does not target or knowingly collect data from children. Since we do not collect any personal identifiers, our application complies fully with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) regulations.
