1. The Core Loop

Digital Nomad Tycoon is built around a satisfying progression cycle. You begin with active tapping to generate income, transition into passive income through upgrades and assets, and multiply your wealth by managing dynamic markets.

2. Upgrades & Setup

Your environment directly dictates your productivity. In the Upgrades tab, you'll find three main categories of upgrades.

Hardware

This category increases your Passive Income. It starts with the Old Laptop (+1 cash per second for each level) and runs through Dual 4K Monitors and a Personal Server Farm up to a Dyson Swarm Node.

Skills

Investing in yourself. Each level of a skill adds a flat amount to your tap value, from Basic HTML/CSS (+1 per level) and JavaScript Mastery (+3) up to Quantum Computing and beyond. Later skills unlock as you level the earlier ones or as your balance grows.

Lifestyle

A comfortable developer is a productive developer. Lifestyle upgrades, from an Ergonomic Chair and an Unlimited Coffee Supply to an Executive Penthouse and a Private Island Retreat, also raise your Passive Income (Cash per Second).

3. Global Travel

You don't stay in one place forever. Eleven cities are open to you, from Eskişehir to Singapore. Each one unlocks at a set player level and costs a one-off travel fee, and each raises your idle income, tap value or XP while you are based there. Building offices or completing gigs in a city raises its multiplier further.

You travel from the world map: pick a city, watch the flight, and a postcard welcomes you when you land. Every city has its own illustrated skyline behind your desk, and the desk itself grows as you level up, from a dorm-room laptop at level 1 to a café table (10), a coworking space (20), a penthouse (40) and an orbital station (60).

4. The Economy & Ventures

Tapping can only get you so far. To become a billionaire, you need your money to work for you. The Ventures terminal in the Hub holds your SaaS projects, your company and the markets, and the Assets list under Upgrades holds your income multipliers.

SaaS Projects

Develop and launch SaaS (Software as a Service) projects. You can only maintain one active instance per blueprint (e.g., Nomad VPN, Cloud Render). After five minutes of building, each one generates Nomad Gems over time, from 3 to 150 a day, and launching it grants +50 Reputation.

Corporate Expansion & IPO

Transition from a freelancer to a CEO by incorporating your company for $10M. As you upgrade your Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and HR departments, your valuation rises. Pitch to VC investors for cash by selling equity (up to 49%; shareholders then take that share of your idle income), and once your valuation reaches $100M, launch an IPO (Initial Public Offering) for cash worth half your valuation and +500 Reputation.

Assets

The Assets list under Upgrades holds eleven one-time purchases, from a Freelancer License ($7,500) to a Stellar Clearing House. Each one raises all your income by a fixed percentage, from +10% up to +120,000%, and market swings never touch them. A Rebirth resets them, so you buy them again on every run.

5. Team Management

Scaling your empire requires delegating tasks. The Neural Marketplace allows you to hire a dedicated team.

The Crew (Freelancers & Assistants)

You can hire up to a maximum of 5 active crew members (Junior Devs, Designers, Architects, etc.). Each member provides permanent buffs to your idle income, tap value, XP or critical hit chance. Since the capacity is strictly limited to 5, you must strategize and sometimes dismiss early hires to make room for elite talent later.

Department Managers

Once you incorporate, you can hire four legendary Managers for $25M each, one for each department. Assigned to a department, each adds a passive bonus, such as +20% gig rewards or +15% valuation, and an active ability on a cooldown of 6 to 48 hours.

6. Stock & Crypto Markets

This is where fortunes are made and lost. The Ventures terminal includes a simulated stock market and a cryptocurrency, both priced by random swings with a slight upward drift.

Stocks

Five fictional tech companies, from NeuralNexus to FinFlow, reprice once a minute by up to 10–25% either way. Own a majority of a company's shares and you can pay a premium to absorb it into your empire.

Cryptocurrency

Nomad Coin (NMC) reprices every 10 seconds by up to 15% either way, so over a minute it moves more than any stock. High risk, high reward. Only invest what you are willing to lose.

7. Dynamic Events & Gigs

The game world is alive and will throw opportunities (and obstacles) your way.

Freelance Gigs

While you are on Earth, a new freelance offer appears every minute or so if none is waiting. It stays open for 15 seconds, with a bar that drains as time runs out, and lapses if you don't accept it in time. Once accepted, a timer of one to three minutes runs and the gig pays out in full when it ends; tap it in the last 15 seconds for a 25% bonus, or finish it at once for a few gems or an optional ad. Each gig pays cash and XP, adds +1 Reputation and has a 20% chance to drop a piece of gear.

Golden Events ✨

Keep your eyes peeled. Every 1.5 to 4 minutes a glowing golden bubble appears on screen and stays for 8 seconds. Tapping it pays a lump sum based on your tap value and idle income, and about one bubble in twelve starts Hackathon Mode instead: 5× tap value for 15 seconds.

Random Events

Roughly every ten minutes a global event starts, shown in a banner at the top of the screen with a countdown. "Tech Boom" adds 50% to idle income and 30% to tap value for two minutes, "Coffee Rush" adds 150% to tap value for 45 seconds, and "WiFi Outage" takes 30% off idle income and 20% off tap value for 90 seconds. Adjust your strategy while they last.

8. Master Rank & Leaderboards

Digital Nomad Tycoon features two distinct ranking systems that measure both your weekly hustle and your lifetime legacy.

Reputation (Master Rank)

Reputation is your permanent Master Rank. Unlike your money or level, Reputation is never reset during a Rebirth or Singularity, though lobbying for city policies spends some. You gain Reputation by completing Gigs (+1), launching SaaS projects (+50), building City Offices (+10), upgrading departments (+10), securing VC investments (+15), unlocking achievements (+20), incorporating your company (+100), and going public (IPO) (+500). Reputation adds a logarithmic bonus to your income multiplier: the first 50 points add +100%, the next +100% takes another 100 points, and each step after that needs twice as many as the one before.

Global Leaderboard (Google Play Games)

You are ranked against players worldwide based purely on your Reputation Points. This ensures the global leaderboards reflect true mastery and long-term strategy rather than inflated infinite money stats.

Seasonal Leagues (In-Game)

Your profile displays your current "League" (Bronze to Diamond). This is a 7-day seasonal race measuring only your current season's cash earnings against 100 simulated rivals. It pays 150 Gems at the end of the week and resets, keeping the short-term hustle exciting while your Master Rank grows permanently in the background.
